Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer welcomed guests to the breakfast, joking that, “we can pray for one thing – that Dwight Howard stays in Orlando.” Dyer also commented on the privilege of hosting the All-Star Weekend.

Upon receiving their awards, Robinson and Williams both spoke about the importance of their faith, and the difference it has made in their lives. Williams’ daughter, Karyn, who performed at the breakfast, surprised her dad with a special song she had written for him, which she sang before he received the Colangelo Award.

At the end of the event, Robinson and Corwin Anthony, director of the AIA Pro Ministry, explained how to become a Christian and gave guests an opportunity to learn more about becoming a Christian and how to grow in their faith by indicating their desire on comment cards.
